When filing a trademark application through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (“USPTO”) website, an applicant can choose to file a regular TEAS or a TEAS Plus application. The first difference is cost. A TEAS trademark application will cost you $325 per class of goods or services. A TEAS Plus trademark application will cost you $275 per class of goods or services. Second, in order to file a TEAS Plus trademark application, you must select a one of the already listed acceptable identification of goods or services from the USPTO’s Acceptable Identification of Goods and Services Manual. Third, for a TEAS Plus trademark application, you must file all communications with the USPTO electronically (i.e., using TEAS).
